Report Potential Research Misconduct

Complaints of research misconduct will be assessed regardless of whether the complaint originate within or without the University of Illinois and whether presented electronically, in writing or orally. (UI Policy §VII.)

Please be sure that the description of any alleged misconduct is sufficiently specific to allow the complaint to be assessed. Failure to provide sufficient information may result in the complaint not being brought to the Inquiry stage (UIC Procedures §V.C.).

If you are reporting potential research misconduct and wish to remain anonymous, be assured that any credible complaint will be assessed (UI Policy §VII.). To assure anonymity is maintained, please be sure that your description does not contain any self-identifying information. Failure to review the information may result in inadvertent disclosure of your identity. fI you choose not to provide any contact information, please be sure that your complaint includes enough specific information that the RIO can properly assess the complaint.
