There are numerous regulations at both the state and federal level, which govern the purchase of, access to and use of controlled substances. The OACIB in conjunction with the Biologic Resources Laboratory, and the UIC Ambulatory Care Pharmacy is responsible for oversight of the program at UIC that regulates controlled substance use in animal research.The goal of the OACIB is to facilitate the process for the investigator and to ensure compliance of with federal and state regulations.Please contact us if you have any questions regarding the use of controlled substances in animal research.
