ACC Holiday 2024 Deadlines:
- Deadline for submission for ACC Protocols eligible for review at the January Meeting is 5:00 PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
- Deadline for submission for ACC Modifications eligible for administrative, designated review or full committee review in December is 5:00 PM, Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Modifications submitted after this date will be reviewed in January 2025.
*This deadline applies to protocols that have previously been submitted to the ACC office and have undergone the administrative/veterinary review process or have been deferred by the ACC and require review at a convened meeting. The PI must respond to the comments by this date in order for the protocol to be reviewed by the ACC in the respective month.
**Please note that deadline differs from other months due to holiday schedule.

Federal Requirements
- AWA Regulations and Standards – Minimum three members
- PHS Policy- Minimum five members
- Minimum requirements for ACC membership
- Chair
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with expertise in laboratory animal medicine and has direct or delegated responsibility for program authority and responsibilities for activities involving animals at the institution
- Practicing scientist with experience in research involving animals
- Nonscientific member
- Unaffiliated member to provide representation for the general community interests in the proper care and treatment of animals
Composition of UIC ACC
- Chair/Scientist
- Four additional scientific members in the basic sciences with expertise in a broad range of biomedical fields including endocrinology, cardiology, cell biology, physiology, neurobiology, pharmacology and psychology
- Two veterinarians – both are diplomats of the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine
- One affiliated non-scientific member
- One unaffiliated member
