Formula Options
Option 1 – The first formula allows Business Managers to modify Revised Payroll and/or Calculated Cost Share.
- Computed effort = Revised Payroll + Calculated Cost Share
- Displaying the Revised Payroll column allows Business Managers to confirm if an adjustment has been made in Banner
- BM must ensure labor redistribution was made if not reflected in ECC at the time of certification.
- May take less time to complete since you can revise payroll % before any required labor redistributions are reflected in ECC.
Option 2 – The second formula only allows Business Managers to edit Calculated Cost Share.
- Computed effort = Payroll + Calculated Cost Share
- Less manual input required on the effort statement
- Labor redistributions must be posted in ECC before the report can be certified accurately, if applicable.
- Allows BMs to ensure a required labor redistribution has been made in Banner.
- May take more time to complete the effort certification if redistributions are required (i.e., labor redistributions must appear in ECC before certification).
