Introducing new Director of Post-Award Angelo Chrisomalis

Angelo Chrisomalis has joined the OVCR Office of Sponsored Programs as Director of Post-Award.

The OSP Post-Award team is responsible for the administration and expenditure of sponsored projects, minimizing the administrative burden and protecting the interests of the faculty and the University. Their activities include managing financial interactions with sponsors, developing and disseminating policies and procedures and assuring compliance with university and sponsor policies.

Chrisomalis will lead the UIC Post-Award team as the latest chapter of an accomplished career in academic research administration and finance. Most recently, he served as Assistant Vice President of Research Administration (Post-Award) at Baylor College of Medicine, where he led a team of 34 and oversaw a sponsored program and restricted fund portfolio of over $650 million.

He has also previously worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Rutgers University, Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute and State University of New York at Albany. He brings vast experience in many post-award functions, including financial compliance, cash management, audits, F&A rate proposals, policy and procedure development, system implementation and process reengineering.
