Sponsor Spotlight: The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
Research Development Brown Bag Lunch Webinars
October 3, 2023
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation (Mellon) makes grants to support communities through the power of the arts and humanities, a funding strategy that aligns with UIC researchers exploring the interaction of social justice, culture, and the arts. However, with several broad priority areas and policies discouraging unsolicited proposals, it can be challenging for faculty to understand how best to engage with Mellon — and where to even begin. This brown bag lunch webinar, hosted by the UIC Office of Research Development, will feature faculty speakers from across campus who have secured funding from Mellon, along with staff from the Corporate & Foundation Relations team. This presentation will allow participants to learn directly from Mellon grantees about their experiences partnering with the foundation to contribute to a more connected, creative, and just society. This presentation is well-suited for faculty working in a wide array of disciplines, including liberal arts and sciences, diversity and equity, urban planning and policy, social justice, and the arts, as well as others.
