NSF CAREER Writing Workout Kickstart

NSF CAREER Proposal Development Series

March 18, 2022

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM

Location

Virtual

Cost

Free

You have a CAREER project in mind, and you know what the NSF reviewers will be looking for, but you're staring at a blank screen! How do you get started? It's time for some Writing Workouts. You can choose to complete Writing Workout A or Writing Workout B as standalone exercises, but both is better!

This session will provide an introduction to Writing Workout A: Cardio in a Writing Accountability Group [WAG] and Writing Workout B: Strength Training at The Narrative Gym.  Writing Workout A will assign participants to WAGs that they can attend and manage on their own. Writing Workout B will involve reading The Narrative Gym by Randy Olson and applying the principles outlined in the book to drafting your Project Summary. Participants will submit their Project Summaries for round-robin peer review using the Narrative Gym approach to get constructive feedback on this critical element of their CAREER applications.

This session is part of the Office of Research Development's NSF CAREER Proposal Development Series.

Please RSVP to get the Zoom link. This event will be recorded.
