Evidence related to the social determinants of health (SDOH) is the focus of numerous systematic reviews, yet there is currently no standardized approach for searching for SDOH topics in the literature. This presentation will describe recent research which examined evidence synthesis publications on topics pertaining to SDOH, noting the search terms used by authors and other aspects of their search strategies, in order to examine the strengths and weaknesses of these strategies. It will discuss how this research lays the initial groundwork for the creation of a validated search hedge while simultaneously highlighting the challenges of this endeavor.
