A proposal is a detailed request for extramural funding prepared in accordance with the sponsors instructions and University policy. All proposed projects that include the use UIC resources, such as faculty time, students, equipment, or facilities, must be reviewed and approved by the University prior to submission to the sponsor.
The Office of Research Services is responsible for the review and approval process for all projects involving Research, Instruction or Public Service activities supported by external sponsors. A proposal, upon submission, becomes an official record of what has been promised to a sponsor.
This section provides guidance for developing the various components of a proposal, including the budget, and explains the proposal review process.
