About
Sou Soura is the Associate Director of the Office of Animal Care and Institutional Biosafety (OACIB) and has more than 15 years of extensive research experience. She has been affiliated with the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) since 2005. Prior to joining OVCR, Mrs. Soura was a preclinical Toxicologist at Pfizer. She is a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago.
As associate director of OACIB, Mrs. Soura is involved in daily management of the office. She communicates with investigators regarding IACUC and/or IBC decisions and assists investigators in obtaining protocol approvals. She is involved in reviewing research proposals and grant applications to ensure consistency in order to ensure institutional compliance with federal requirements. She is a member of both committees and serves as the chair of the Large Animal Subcommittee.
