About
Valerie Parkison is currently Director of the Office of Animal Care and Institutional Biosafety (OACIB). Prior to joining UIC in 2020, Valerie was Regulatory Director in the Office of the Vice Provost at Tufts University where she provided oversight for the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, the Institutional Biosafety Committee, the Radiation Safety Committee, and the Chemical Safety Committee. She is a Certified Professional IACUC Administrator (CPIA) and has presented on a variety of regulatory topics at national and local conferences.
Valerie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a focus in Neuroscience from Michigan State University and her Master of Science in Animals and Public Policy at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts.
