About
Mee Mee Lee-Choi serves as Director of Sponsored Programs – Post-Award. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from UIC coupled with years of experience in post-award research administration, Mee Mee brings financial and technical expertise to this position. Having served in various management positions at UIC over her career, she is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of managing over $350 million dollars annually in sponsored program expenditures. This includes developing internal policies and standard operating procedures for staff, interpreting federal and non-federal policies and guidelines for the research community, tracking and presenting quarterly metrics including department and college performance goals, assuring proper allocation of resources and developing training materials to educate the research community on responsible stewardship.
In her tenure at UIC, she has served on various campus committees including; Pre- and Post-award Task Force, Uniform Guidance Implementation Task Force, OBFS Policy Redesign, Daily Process Improvement projects. Mee Mee is a proud winner of four employee recognition awards including the Barbara M. Faul Teamer award, the L. Rea Jones Award, the Award of Merit and the Chancellor’s Academic Professional Excellence (CAPE) award.
