A post-doctoral position is available immediately for a funded translational research project in the area of acute leukemia, related to apoptosis, protein translation and amino acid metabolism. Research areas in the laboratory include cancer cell biology, leukemia stem cells, and heme transport and biology.
Proficient skills in western blotting, phosphorylation assays, co-immunoprecipitation, PCR, qPCR, flow cytometry and cell culture desirable. Candidate must have the ability to learn new research technologies, and work independently, while knowledge of hematology and cell metabolism, statistics, bioinformatics and strong communication skills is advantageous.
Applicants must be within the first four years of receiving their M.D. or Ph.D to be eligible for this and have a strong research background in cell and molecular biology required.
