The University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago invites applications for highly motivated graduating PhD students or postdoctoral fellows with experience in vascular biology, cell signaling, and lung biology to apply to our T32 Postdoctoral Training Program. This program, currently in its 27th year, was borne out of our commitment to providing research training opportunities. Our pre-eminent goal is to provide state-of-the-art research training for an outstanding group of predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees.
Trainees will be matched with an appropriate faculty mentor for their postdoctoral training.
Our Training Program comprises five complementary thematic areas: (1) Biology and Pathobiology of Pulmonary Vessels, (2) Regenerative Mechanisms in Lung and Vascular Biology, (3) Cellular and Humoral Basis of Lung Inflammation and Injury, (4) Signaling Mechanisms of Lung Injury and Repair, and (5) Lung and Vascular Genomics. Trainees will be matched with an appropriate faculty mentor for their postdoctoral training.
Qualifications: A PhD or MD/PhD or MD degree is required. Experience with biomedical research is also highly desirable. Competitive candidates will have a publication record and excellent communication skills. Due to NIH regulations, candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents.
