Call for Michael Reese Pioneer in Research Awards at the University of Illinois College of Medicine
Michael Reese Pioneer in Research Awards (MRPRAs) support a small number of outstanding College of Medicine faculty investigators who submitted highly meritorious NIH research grant applications (RO1 or equivalent) that were not funded despite very favorable grant reviews (Impact score ≤ 33). Research conducted with MRPRA funding will provide a strengthened scientific foundation for the selected awardees to succeed in NIH resubmission, which is expected for all awardees. Eligible projects cannot have received notice of funding from
NIH or other sources at the time of MRPRA submission.
MRPRA requests should be limited to direct costs and one-year budget amounts of no more than $50,000.
