11:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Extramural funding can provide critical support to get your research project off the ground or expand it to a larger scale that demonstrates its impact. But once you’ve identified a potential funding opportunity, what comes next, and how can you best position your proposal to stand out in a sea of other applications? Understanding what sponsors are looking for is key – and while many funders may not provide specifics, learning about the proposal review process can provide important insights into how to be responsive and set yourself up for success. Researchers from across campus will benefit from this panel discussion on how review processes vary across different public and private sponsors, as well as how to better understand what funders are looking for and ways to align your proposal with the sponsor’s priorities. The session will include presentations from UIC Foundation Relations and federal relations firm Lewis-Burke Associates, followed by plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Speakers
Morgan Benson – Senior Director of Foundation Relations, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Office for the Vice Chancellor for Advancement at UIC
