The mission of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is to uphold the rule of law, keep our country safe and protect civil rights. In support of this mission, DOJ offers funding opportunities to conduct research and collect national statistics and to implement programs that improve the criminal, civil and juvenile justice systems. In this webinar, federal relations experts from Lewis-Burke Associates, LLC will introduce DOJ funding opportunities and best practices for interacting with DOJ funding offices. Webinar participants will learn about strategies for successfully competing for DOJ research funds and resources for follow-on support for future engagement plans. The DOJ overview will be followed by a panel presentation which will allow participants to learn directly from UIC faculty grantees about their experiences applying for and receiving DOJ funding for their work. The presentation will conclude with a Q&A session. This webinar is well-suited for faculty working in an array of justice-related disciplines, including Criminology, Law & Justice; Economics; Education; History; Law; Medicine; Psychology; Public Administration; Public Health; Sociology; Social Work and Urban Planning & Policy.
