11:00 AM - 12:00 PM America/Chicago
Are you planning your next research project, working with a student with a short timeline or seeking to maintain research productivity in a tight-resource environment? In all these cases, existing data can help you explore new questions, identify research gaps and kickstart new ideas. But what kinds of data are available to you as a UIC researcher, and how do you access these data? This session will introduce researchers from across disciplines to a variety of data sources and datasets including data gathered by the university; datasets, polls, and mapping tools licensed by the University Library; and large datasets subscribed to by the university. Discover polling data, demographics, patient health data, Chicago neighborhood statistics, student data, corporation data and how to securely access granular controlled Census data.
