ARPA-H, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, was officially created in 2022 to support high-risk, high-reward biomedical research and drive transformational advances in health. While ARPA-H aims to tackle similar challenges as other agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services like the National Institutes of Health (NIH), ARPA-H employs a drastically different approach to program structure and the award process. Thus, researchers must adjust their proposal development and agency engagement approaches. To help prepare researchers to successfully compete for ARPA-H funding, we will hear from colleagues with experience in applying for and receiving ARPA-H awards and engaging with ARPA-H program officials. Attendees will learn the latest intelligence on ARPA-H’s priorities and interests and the likely cadence of new program postings. The speakers will highlight contrasts between ARPA-H and other federal funding agencies like NIH.

Speakers
Andy Boyd – Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Chief Research Information Officer, OVCR and Professor, College of Applied Health Sciences
Eve Granatosky – Principal, Lewis-Burke Associates
