ARPA-H, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, was officially created in March 2022 to support high-risk, high-reward biomedical research and drive transformational advances in health. The agency has a $2.5 billion budget and recently released its first funding opportunities for researchers. While ARPA-H aims to tackle similar challenges as other agencies within the Department of Health and Human Services like the National Institutes of Health (NIH), it will take a drastically different approach to program structure, the award process and agency engagement. To help prepare researchers to compete for ARPA-H funding, representatives from federal relations firm Lewis-Burke Associates LLC will provide an overview of the development of ARPA-H to date and share the latest intelligence on ARPA-H’s priorities and interests, highlighting contrasts between ARPA-H and other federal funding agencies like NIH. There will be time for Q&A following the presentation and faculty can also engage directly with Lewis-Burke following this event.
