Kevin Beck, Executive Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at UIC, will be hosting a brown bag lunch on Monday, December 13 at noon (CT) entitled “Fundamentals of Foundation Funding.” During this presentation, Mr. Beck will first explain the landscape of independent and corporate foundations that fund academic research, highlighting examples of recent foundation grants to UIC PIs. He will provide some guidelines for engaging with foundations and will conclude by describing the advancement resources available to PIs at both the campus and college levels. The presentation is intended to provide insights into new and existing funding opportunities for early- to mid-career faculty looking to learn more about how to secure research funding from foundations.
