BIHE Monthly Seminar – Development and testing of a multi-component mobile health technology intervention to improve self-care adherence in patients with chronic heart failure
BIHE Monthly Seminar
December 14, 2022
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Commercially available mobile health technologies such as mobile apps, wearable activity trackers, and connected health devices hold tremendous promise for improving self-care in patients with heart failure. However, their safety and efficacy remains underexplored. This talk will discuss key findings and practical experiences gained from a pilot randomized trial of a patient-centered intervention (iCardia4HF) that combines the use of consumer mHealth technologies (e.g., Fitbit and Withings) with a program of individually tailored text messages to improve self-care adherence in patients with heart failure.
Sponsored by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, College of Medicine, and College of Applied Health Sciences.
