2022 UIC Innovation Celebration

Please join the Office of Technology Management to celebrate the innovative impact that UIC research has made both nationally and globally at the 2022 UIC Innovation Celebration.  It is important to recognize and celebrate the significant contribution that UIC research provides to commercialized products and to the ongoing success of the University's economic development mission and the growth of entrepreneurial talent in our community.

The UIC Innovation Celebration ceremony and networking reception will include a guest keynote speaker Katherine Atkinson, from Evofem Biosciences, and the presentation of the 2020 and 2021 UIC Inventor of the Year Award. We are honored to present the 2021 Inventor of the Year Award to Dr. Donald Waller from the College of Pharmacy. The 2020 UIC Inventor of the Year Award will be presented in person to Dr. Ramaswamy Kalyanasundaram from the College of Medicine at Rockford.

Evofem Biosciences successfully launched Phexxi™, a non-hormonal contraceptive created out of a collaboration between UIC College of Pharmacy professor Dr. Donald Waller, and Rush University Medical Center professor Dr. Lourens Zaneveld. Please come join us to celebrate the fruition of Drs. Waller and Zaneveld’s work on Phexxi.

In honor of such high impact research, the UIC Innovation Celebration will be held on September 15, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Michele M. Thompson Rooms of the UIC Student Center West at 828 South Wolcott Avenue. A light reception to follow.
