The UIC Impact and Research Day (IRD) is an event in which the campus celebrates the wealth of research and engagements across all disciplines carried out by the dedicated undergraduate, graduate, and professional students of this campus. The IRD provides a venue for students at UIC to present their research and other scholarly pursuits and discuss the impact of those experiences.

Students from all disciplines (Arts, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, among others) are invited to present in one of four formats:  a research poster, an impact poster or display, a 10-minute oral presentation, or a creative presentation.  Research presentations and impact posters are accompanied by a poster or other visual display that captures the spirit of the research work and/or highlights key features of the project while creative presentations could include a recital or art display.  Oral presentations will focus on an engagement experience.  Each format will be judged by a mix of faculty and alumni judges during a high-energy, 3-hour session.

Over 300 students from the Arts, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Humanities, Life Sciences, Mathematics, Physical and Social Sciences participate in this event. Faculty, alumni and friends serve as judges during a high-energy 2.5 hour review session.  Monetary awards are given in various categories. Questions regarding the event may be directed to the IRD Coordinator, Jacqueline Berger at jacquieb@uic.edu

Support for this unique and impressive event is currently provided by a variety of UIC units.   Additional support is invited and welcomed to help underwrite the costs of the posters, displays and prizes.

Please consider doing what you can to ensure the UIC Impact and Research Day continues.  A new gift fund has been created to make it easy for individuals and organizations to support the IRD at any level, directly from the IRD website: http://research.uic.edu/about-ovcr/srf/giving.

If your organization would like to consider major funding opportunities, please review the information below.

A few major sponsorship opportunities for underwriting the costs of the Impact and Research Day at UIC exist.  Please share this information with any individual(s) or organization(s) you believe might be interested in providing such support.
